Going for a meal with your friends or family is usually a good way to relax and have a good time. However, quite often these friendly get-togethers descend into full-scale warfare once the bill comes and the ensuing argument over who needs to pay what begins.
Often, the easiest way to settle the dispute is to decide to split the bill, although even then, it can take ages for everyone to work out how much they need to pay. Not any longer though, because Fizz Bill Now is here to help you resolve your disagreements.
This small app allows you to calculate the amount of the bill that each person needs to pay. You simply need to enter the total cost, insert the percentage of tip that you think should be paid (or which you're required to pay), then key in the number of people to split the bill between. Click 'Get Bill' and hey presto! You can tell everyone exactly how much to fish out of their wallets and enjoy the rest of your evening without arguments.
At least that's the theory. In reality of course, people can often be quite pedandic when it comes to money, and you may find yourself in a position where someone refuses to pay an equal share because they only had a salad. Unfortunately, Bill Now doesn't allow for this and only works in situations where everyone agrees to pay an equal amount.
Aside from this issue, I thought perhaps it would've been useful if Fizz had included some kind of currency converter within Bill Now. It would be perfect for those foreign trips where you quickly want to find out how much the meal would've costed if you were back home.
Despite its fairly limited scope, Bill Now still offers a quick and convenient way of settling your dinner party disputes.
Pros
  • Very simple one-screen interface
  • Takes tips into account
Cons
  • Only works if you're splitting the bill equally
  • No currency converter
